IndianOil offers 2600 Scholarships for Students of 10+/ITI, Engineering, MBBS & MBA Courses on merit cum means basis.

1. "IndianOil Merit Scholarships Scheme" for 10+/ITI studies

2000 Scholarships are being offered for 10+/ITI studies. The distribution of scholarships may be State-wise based on "Number of students appeared for 10th Standard during 2010-11".

2. "IndianOil Scholarships Scheme" for Graduate and Post-Graduate students

600 scholarships are being offered for professional courses (Engineering-300 nos., MBBS-200 Nos. & MBA-100 Nos.). The distribution of scholarships may be Zone-wise (as shown in the table below) based on "Number of students appeared for 12th Standard during 2010-11 and will be equitably distributed in the four zones given below. For MBA course marks obtained in graduate course will be considered.

ELIGIBILITY: Students pursuing full time/regular courses in these streams & studying in Schools/Colleges/Institutions/Universities recognized by MCI/AICTE/State Education Boards/ State Govt. / ICSC/CBSE/Central Govt./Association of Indian universities, shall be eligible to apply. The student should have bonafide admission in the 1st year of School/College/Institute/University in the academic year 2011-12. Students of two year full time post graduate courses in Business Administration/Management recognized by Central/State Govt./Association of Indian universities and which are equivalent to MBA, are eligible for management stream scholarship. Students having confirmed admission in the first year of full time engineering degree course, MBBS, MBA and also 11th standard as well as those in the 1st year of 2 year ITI course are eligible to apply. In case of graduates, the average percentage of marks of all the academic years shall be treated as marks obtained by the candidate. Similarly in case of 10th/12th, if percentage of marks obtained is not mentioned by Board/University, percentage of marks obtained shall be calculated on total aggregate marks. Minimum eligibility percentage of marks for various categories will be as indicated above.

Gross Joint income of the family of the candidate from all sources (during financial year 2010-11) should not exceed Rs. 1,00,000/- (Rupees One Lakh only). Income certificate should be issued by Competent Revenue Authorities only. The marks obtained in the qualifying examination making the students eligible to seek admission in the respective first year of these courses will be considered for selection. Normalization of marks of applicant shall be done for Engineering, MBBS & MBA streams to bring parity of marking system within different Boards/ Universities/Institutions. Criterion for selection will be merit and family's income. Wards of the employees of IOCL, its Joint Venture and Subsidiary companies and ACE Consultants are not eligible to apply.

AGE LIMIT: Minimum 15 years and maximum 30 years as on 25.7.2011. Persons born between 25.7.81 and 25.7.96 (both days inclusive) are eligible to apply.

RESERVATION & RELAXATION: Relaxation in the upper age limit is 3 years for OBC candidates, 5 years for SC/ST candidates and 10 years for physically challenged/physically handicapped candidates. 50% of the scholarships are reserved for SC/ST & OBC candidates. In each stream/ category, 25% of scholarships are reserved for girl students and 10% for physically challenged/physically handicapped students (minimum 40% disability as per definition under Disabilities Act 1952). Only those listed in the Central Govt's OBC list will be considered against OBC quota. OBC candidates of state list and not covered by Central Govt's OBC list may apply against general quota.

APPLICATION: Candidates studying in 11th standard, 1st year of a 2 year ITI course, 1st year of Engineering degree, MBBS and MBA in the academic year 2011-12 are to apply through Online Application Form only by logging on to http://applicationnew.com/ioclscholar2011. Once the online application is submitted by an applicant, the system will generate a unique Registration Number which the applicants should note down for future reference/correspondence. The applicants should take out a print-out of the submitted online application and send hard copy of his application form duly signed along with their Caste/Date of Birth/Mark Sheet/family's Income Certificate etc., duly authenticated/attested by appropriate competent authority/civil authority urgently for verification of documents. Applicants should provide information in the prescribed forms (click here to download the forms) which should be attached with the hard copy of application form, as stated above. However, in case the marks, income or any other information; declared at the time of initial application; is found incorrect during scrutiny; the candidature of such candidates shall be summarily rejected. Decision of IndianOil regarding Scholar's selection shall be final and no correspondence on the selection process shall be entertained.

Once awarded, the scholarships will be disbursed @ Rs. 3,000/- per month for 4 years in case of Engineering & MBBS and 2 years for MBA courses and @ Rs 1,000 /- per month for duration of 2 years in case of 10+2 and ITI course. Duration of each course in no case is less than the duration of the scholarship. The scholarship will be suspended, if the scholar is not promoted to the next academic year. In case, the scholar is not promoted for the second time (in succession for 2 years during the entire course), the scholar will be taken off from the list of IOCL scholars and scholarship will be discontinued permanently.

The performance of the scholar must be satisfactory during the entire duration of the course. The performance is to be certified by the Head /Principal/Dean/Director of the School/College/ Institute /University The top one scholar each from final year of Engineering, Medicine & Management (who top their respective university exam) and top 10 scholars amongst final year of ITI & 12th (who are able to achieve position amongst top ten in their respective Board) will be awarded bonus prize of Rs 10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand only) each and invited to the annual day function of IndianOil Institute of Petroleum Management, Gurgaon, to receive the prize. The travel, board & lodge expenses will be borne by IOCL.

A scholarship holder under this scheme will not hold any other scholarship/stipend from any other source. If awarded any other scholarship/stipend, the student can exercise his/her option for choosing the scholarship that he/she proposes to avail and inform awarding authority about the same. In case, the scholar opts for any other scholarship, he/she will have to refund the scholarship amount for the duration during which he/she is in receipt of the IOCL scholarship. The payment of Scholarship amount will be sent six monthly through head of the respective School/College/Institute/University of the selected scholar. But, however, the payment of first two six monthly installments will be sent together to reach head of the respective School/College/Institute/University. There will be no obligation on part of IOCL to provide employment/vocational/summer training to any of the scholars, at any time/stage. IOCL reserves the right to reject any application as well as discontinue the scholarship at any time without giving any notice/ assigning any reason.

LIC GOLDEN JUBILEE SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME
SCHEME OF ‘LIC GOLDEN JUBILEE SCHOLARSHIP’ FOR STUDENTS BELONGING TO THE ECONOMICALLY WEAKER FAMILIES FOR PURSUING HIGHER STUDIES.


1.OBJECTIVE

The objective of the scheme is to award scholarships to meritorious students belonging to economically weaker sections of society so as to provide them better opportunities for higher education increase their rate of attainment in higher education and enhance their employability.

2. SCOPE

The scholarship is to be awarded for studies in India in a government or private college/university,. It will also cover technical and vocational courses in Industrial Training Institutes/ Industrial Training Centres affiliated with the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT) of classes at Graduation level.

3. ELIGIBILITY

Students who have passed Class XII exam or its equivalent in the Academic Year 2010-11 and are interested to pursue higher education in the field of

i) Medicine, Engineering, Graduation, in any discipline, Diploma Course in any field or other equivalent courses.
ii) Vocational Courses through Government recognized Colleges/Institutes or courses in Industrial Training Institutes (ITI).
For i) above Candidates who have passed Class XII exam or equivalent in the Academic year 2010-11 with at least 60% marks or equivalent grade and annual income of whose parents/guardian from all sources does not exceed ` 60,000/ per annum.
For ii) above The basic educational qualification is relaxed to Class X or equivalent with at least 60% marks in the Academic year 2011 subject to income ceiling of parents/guardians.



4. DURATION

Scholarship shall be provided for the entire course.

5. RATE OF SCHOLARSHIP
10,000/- per annum, ` 1000/ payable monthly for ten months by Cheques to the Beneficiary.

6. CONDITIONS FOR SCHOLARSHIP

(i) Scholarship shall be awarded to the students who have secured not less than 60% marks or equivalent grade in the previous final examination and the annual income of whose parents/guardian from all sources does not exceed Rs.60,000/ per annum. Students having the lowest family income shall be given preference in the ascending order.

(ii) The scholarship shall be discontinued if a student fails to secure 50% in B.A./B.COM. and 55% marks in other streams or equivalent grade, in the previous final examination of the course for which scholarship is awarded. Scholarship shall not be awarded for more than the normal period of time taken to obtain certificate/degree.

(iii) Scholarship shall not be given to more than one student in a family.

(iv) The students should be regular in attendance for which the yardstick shall be decided by the competent authority of the school/college/university.

(v) Income certificate should be on self-certification basis by way of an affidavit on non-judicial stamp paper for self-employed parents and from employer for employed parents supported by documents such as land held by revenue department in the name of parents.

(vi) If a student violates any other term and condition of the scholarship, the scholarship may be suspended or cancelled.

(vii) If a student is found to have obtained a scholarship by false statement/certificates, his/her scholarship shall be cancelled forthwith and the amount of the scholarship paid shall be recovered, at the discretion of the concerned Divisional Administration of LIC.

(viii) LIC Golden Jubilee Foundation will lay down the detailed procedure for processing and sanctioning of scholarships to eligible students.

(ix) The scheme shall be evaluated at regular intervals by the LICGJF.

(x) The regulations can be changed at any time at the discretion of the Board of Trustees of LICGJF

7. RENEWAL OF SCHOLARSHIP

The scholarship, once awarded, may be renewed during the next academic year of the course on the production of certificate that the student has secured 50% in B.A./B.COM. and 55% marks in other streams or equivalent grade in the examination.

Mahindra All India Talent Scholarships for Diploma Courses in Polytechnics 2011



K.C. Mahindra Education Trust, Mumbai, invites applications for Mahindra All India Talent Scholarships from students who have passed Std. X or 5td. Xil and have secured admissions this year in Government or recognised polytechnics for Diploma courses. As reservation for Ex-Servicemen and Physically Challenged persons is on horizontal basis, the vacancies will be filled and adjusted in the appropriate category viz., (UR/OBC/SC/ST).

The definition of Low Vision/Blindness, Locomotor Disability and Hearing Impairment for Physically Challenged candidates is as per "The Persons with Disabilities (Equal Opportunities, Protection of Rights and Full Participation) Act, 1995". The Physically Challenged candidates are required to furnish duly stamped Medical Certificate in relation to their disability from a Government Hospital or Medical Board attached to Special Employment Exchange for the handicap.

The number of vacancies being tentative, the reserved vacancies is only indicative and subject to marginal revision/adjustment based on re-assessment of vacancies at the time of selection, taking into consideration the category wise excess/shortage.


Preference for BEST Apprentice (Gold Medalists)/RUNNER UP Apprentice (Silver Medalists) at All India Apprentices Competitions conducted by the Directorate General of Employment and Training in the Trade Apprenticeship:
These candidates who were selected as BEST APPRENTICE or RUNNER UP APPRENTICE in the All India Trade Test NEED NOT appear for written test. They will be directly called for interview subject to fulfilling other terms and conditions and eligibility criteria. Best Apprentice will be inducted as Artisan Gr IV with 2 increments and Runner-up Apprentice will be inducted as Artisan Gr. IV in the pay scale of Rs.11700-23000/-.


Age Limit And Relaxation

The upper age limit is 27 years as on 01.05.2011, i.e. candidates should be born on or after 01.05.1984 and before 01.05.1993. A relaxation of 3 years for candidates from Other Backward Classes (Non Creamy Layer), 5 years for SC & ST candidates, is admissible in the upper age limit. (Vacanacies reserved for OBC category are meant only for OBC candidates coming under 'Non-Creamy Layer'. 'Non Creamy Layer' Under OBC means 'The gross annual income of parents of the candidateshould not be more than Rs. 4.5 lakhs in last three consecutive years in line with DOPT OM No. 36033/3/2004-Estt. (Res) dated 14th Oct, 2008.'

In Physically Challenged category, the General candidates will be allowed a total of 10 years of age relaxation, OBC (Non Creamy Layer) candidates a total of 13 years and SC/ST candidates a total of 15 years as per rules. All Ex-Servicemen will be allowed age relaxation to the extent of service plus 3 years (6 years in the case of OBC and 8 years for SC/ST).

A relaxation of 5 years in upper age limit is also admissible to candidates who were ordinarily domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period from 01/01/1980 to 31/12/1989.

Upper age limit is further relaxable upto 84 months to candidates possessing equivalent and relevant experience of working directly in a Public or Private Sector organizations manufacturing Boiler components of not less than 100 MW capacity. This age relaxation of a maximum of 84 months will be applicable to candidates having aforesaid experience of 50 months of continuous or intermittent service. Those with lesser months of experience will be entitled for age relaxation on pro rata basis. Such candidates will have to compete with other eligible candidates in Written Test / Interview etc.

For claiming age relaxation, experience certificate from the employer/organisation is to be produced, with details of period of working, nature of products manufactured etc. Those engaged through a contractor directly in these operations would also be entitled to the relaxation. The experience certificate submitted by candidates for fulfilling eligibility criteria shall be subject to verification by BHEL and the decision of BHEL regarding authenticity / genuineness of experience certificates and relevance of experience shall be final and binding on the candidate. The Company will issue the offer of appointment for the candidates who get selected after availing this relaxation only after verification of the genuineness of the experience certificates.

Emoluments & Other Benefits:

Top

The selected candidates will initially be taken as Temporary Employees (Artisan) for a period of one year. On selection, all candidates will be required to undergo training including in allied trades. In addition, candidates selected for Crane Operator cum Rigger posts will be required to undergo specific training in crane operation and rigging for one year in the Company during the period as Temporary Employee (Artisan). During the period of one year they will be paid a consolidated wage of Rs.11,000/- p.m. In addition, they will be entitled to free medical benefits for self and dependent family members and for subsidised company accommodation if available as per Company rules.

On successful completion of this period, they will be absorbed in the regular establishment as ARTISAN Gr. IV at the minimum of the scale of pay of Rs.11700-23000/- with applicable allowances such as Dearness Allowance, perks at 46% of basic Pay, HRA and other benefits like Leave, Contributory Provident Fund (PF), Gratuity, Group Insurance and Group Accident Insurance as per rules. The absorption in the regular establishment will be based on absorption test comprising of written test, skill test and interview to be conducted at the end of one year temporary service period.


Health Standards

Top

Applicants should have sound health. Before joining, selected candidates will have to undergo medical examination by the Company's Authorised Medical Officer and the appointment will be subject to meeting the health standards prescribed by the Company. No relaxation in Health Standards is allowed.

The candidates are advised in their own interest to get themselves thoroughly examined by a Competent Medical Officer before applying.

A non refundable fee of Rs.125/- is payable by the General and OBC candidates (Click Here for Challan) . Candidates belonging to SC/ST categories and Physically Challenged candidates are exempted from paying the fee. The fee can be paid in any of the branches of State Bank of India, in to Power Jothi A/c, No. 30796267034 @ HE, Kailasapuram, Trichy-14 (code no.01363) in favour of Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited, Tiruchirappalli. The triplicate challan for payment of Examination and processing fee of Rs.125/- can be downloaded from the web site. The Journal No. of the bank on payment of fee needs to be entered in the online Application Form and the challan copy (BHEL copy only), needs to be attached with the Acknowledgement Slip and sent to BHEL along with other documents. No other mode of payment like Demand Draft, Money Order, Postal Order, etc., is acceptable.

Selection Process

  • All Eligible candidates will be invited for objective type Written Test to be held at Tiruchirappalli, for which they may download call letters from the website http://careers.bhel.in. No separate intimation will be sent to the candidates by post.
  • The Question Booklets will be trilingual in English/Hindi/Tamil languages.
  • All Eligible Ex-Servicemen candidates who possess the pass certificate of NTC/NAC or equivalent (% of marks not mandatory) in the relevant trade will be called for written test.
  • On the basis of merit of Written Test marks, candidates will then be invited for Personal Interview in the ratio of 1:3 to the number of vacancies.

General Instructions/Conditions

1.    The submission of applications will be on-line only through our recruitment website and no other form of application will be entertained. After submission, candidates shall take print out of the Acknowledgement Slips to be sent to BHEL.

2.    Candidates shall send the Acknowledgement Slip along with the photocopies of applicable enclosures:

o    Challan (BHEL copy) for having paid the application fee wherever applicable

o    Permanent Disability Certificate issued by the Medical Board consisting of atleast three Members (Physically Challenged candidates only)

o    Discharge and trade proficiency certificates (Ex-servicemen only)

o    Certificate/Communication issued by the Directorate General of Employment and Training (All India Best/Runner up Apprentices)

o    Domicile certificate (J&K Candidates only)

o    Experience Certificate for claiming age relaxation

 

3.    Candidates belonging to OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), SC, ST, Physically Challenged and Ex-Servicemen are required to carefully fill in the application form and no request for change of category at a later stage would be entertained. The category once declared, if found to be false at any later stage will render the candidate liable for action including termination and prosecution. The OBC candidates who do not belong to Non Creamy Layer should indicate their category as General only.

4.    Mere conformity to the job requirement will not entitle a candidate to be called for written test and/or interview. Management reserves the right to reject the application without assigning any reason and to raise the standard of specifications to restrict the number of candidates to be called for written test and/or interview.

5.    The Management reserves the right to reschedule /cancel/ suspend / terminate the recruitment process without assigning any reasons and alter the terms and conditions at any time during the process due to any exigency. The decision of the management will be final and no appeal will be entertained.

6.    Any legal proceedings in respect of any matter of claim or dispute arising out of this advertisement and/or an application in response thereto can be instituted only in Tiruchirappalli and the Courts / Tribunals / Forums at Tiruchirappalli only shall have sole and exclusive jurisdiction.

7.    Though the vacancies are initially for posting at Tiruchirappalli, the selected candidates are liable to be transferred / posted at any of the Company's Offices / divisions anywhere in India and abroad.

8.    Persons employed in Govt./Semi-Govt./Public Sector Undertaking/Autonomous bodies may apply directly to BHEL. In case of being short listed for the personal interview which will immediately follow the Written Test, they should produce 'No Objection Certificate' at the time of interview. Otherwise, they will not be interviewed and no TA will be admissible.

9.    Candidates who have left a PSU after availing Voluntary Retirement, if selected will be required to return the VRS compensation received to the PSU concerned.

10.  At the time of Interview, candidates are required to produce all certificates in original for verification and to submit attested copies in support of age, qualification (SSLC, NTC with mark sheet and NAC issued by the respective Regional Directorate of Apprenticeship Training), category/caste, physical disability, experience if seeking age relaxation on this ground, NOC from present employer if employed in Govt/Semi Govt/PSUs, Discharge certificate and Trade Proficiency Certificate equivalent to NAC and other relevant certificates for Ex-servicemen etc.

11.  Candidates short-listed for interview, will be reimbursed Second class to and fro Train fare from the starting station or the mailing address whichever is nearer to the place of interview and back by the shortest route on production of proof of journey. No travelling allowance will be paid for appearing in the written test.

12.  Acknowledgement Slips that are not in conformity with the requirements indicated in this advertisement, incomplete and those received after the last date and not accompanied with BHEL challan copy (wherever applicable) for payment of fee will not be entertained.

13.  BHEL does not take responsibility of attaching the documents required as above or proof for payment of application fee if sent separately after the despatch of the Acknowledgement Slips.

14.  Candidates will be required to undergo to medical examination by the Company's Doctor prior to their appointment after due selection.

15.  Candidates should ensure that they fulfill the essential eligibility criteria prescribed for the post for which they have applied. In case it is found at any stage of the selection process or even after appointment that the candidate has furnished false or incorrect information or suppressed any relevant information/material facts or does not fulfill the essential eligibility criteria, his/her candidature/services are liable for rejection / termination without notice and without assigning any reason.
